Britain is expanding. Its population will grow, according to government estimates, from 60.6m people in 2006 to 71m in 2031. Of that increase, 69 per cent will be due to immigration.

New and revised immigration application forms are to be specified for applications made on or after 29 February 2008. These forms will be available later this month.
Details of Britain’s new Australian-style points based immigration system (PBS) were announced today as the Government published the rules for highly skilled foreign workers applying to come to the UK.
