a recognised full-time degree course;a course run during the week that involves at least 15 hours of organised daytime study a week; or
a full-time course of study at an independent fee-paying school
You must also: be able to pay for your course and support and accommodate yourself and any dependants without working or help from public funds; and plan to leave the United Kingdom when you complete your studies. You should show the evidence that you are intending to leave the UK when your studying is over. If you are a visa-national apply for visa at the local British authority. Others will have to show the relevant documents to the Immigration Officer on entry, Also they can apply from within the UK to switch from another category to that of Student. Usually the term of visa is determined by the length of the course and initial visa is issued for a year.
