Changes to HSMP programme
The new Points Based System only removes an automatic 75 points to those with MBA degree from a list of specific universities. Other general requirements remain the same.
These rules apply only to those applying from the UK. Candidates applying from outside the UK temporarily use the old requirements. Please follow our news updates for more information.
General HSMP requirements are as follows:
The HSMP scheme means you can come to the UK to look for work or establish a business instead of needing an employer to sponsor you first. This is one of the best ways to obtain a leave to remain and British passport.
It is a points based system with 6 categories where points are awarded.
The candidate has to score 75 points to qualify under the following categories:
Graduate level qualification: the higher your qualification, the more points you are awarded.
Earnings: weighted according to country of employment
Age: younger applicants qualify for more points
UK experience: either work or study
MBA graduates from selected educational institutions qualify automatically
Proficiency in English
To prove these criteria you will be required to provide extensive and detailed documentation in support of the application. A significant number of applications fail because the applicant has not provided sufficient documentary evidence to support their case.
